Day 10 - Windy Pass campground to Mt. Rainier N.P.

44 miles - 2928 up

We stay in the Park- yeah!

We saw blue sky for the first time!
It was a gradual climb for the first 17 miles or so, then got a bit steeper for 18, followed by a rippin' downhill almost to the Park entrance.

There were a LOT of landslide barriers along the highway.

We stop at most of the information signs and historical markers as we ride.

Looking back to where we were.

Hugs break.

First sighting...

Downhill time.

another hug break...

I shouldn't eat when I'm getting my picture taken!

We made it to the Park.

There were only a few "walk-in" spaces left and we got one! Whew! There's a very nice family with four boys next to us - we've had a nice time visiting with them, and they brought over some extra Salmon and corn on the cob for us - what a treat! We had freeze dried beef stroganoff for dinner.
We plan to stay tomorrow and ride up to the Paradise Pt. Visitor center, without our panniers... So, 30-40 pounds lighter for the 24 mile hill!
